Lucid Builder - Step 2: Scoring the taxa for the characters

Taxon scores may be entered at any time during key construction and the scores may be revised at any time. The user enters score mode by pressing the score button. Score button icon

To score a taxon for a selected state, a score type is chosen and the taxon is simply clicked. Six score types are available:

Absent button icon absent (if unscored)
Common button icon common
Rare button icon rare
Uncertain button icon uncertain
Common by misinterpretation icon common by misinterpretation
Rare by misinterpretation icon rare by misinterpretation

Because Lucid can assign any of these scores to a state, it is far more powerful than other identification systems that are restricted to simple present/absent scores. It means that:

There are two score modes available: you can score the states for one taxon at a time, or you can score the taxa for one state at a time.

1.       Entering the taxa, characters and states

2.       Scoring the taxa for the characters

3.       NEXT Attaching descriptive text, illustrations and multimedia

4.       Polishing the content and compiling the key
